In November 2005, I was invited on a wonderful vacation in La Paz, Mexico on a private yacht. We were having a great time, snorkeling, kayaking, sunbathing, etc, until we decided to do some cliff diving, on my second try I landed wrongly on my head and the impact with the water  caused me to break my neck and injure my spinal cord in the C5 level.

I spent that night in a hospital in La Paz and was flown the next day to San Diego and was taken to Scripps Merci Hospital.

The surgery went very well, there were no complications, I was under the care of the best doctors in San Diego.

I spent 2 months in the hospital then I was transferred to Sharp Rehabilitation hospital        where I spent 1 month and a half as an inpatient   then attended therapy for about 7 months as an outpatient.

Even though the prognosis that the doctors gave me was that  would never walk again I never believed it to be true and still don't.

About 2 years and a half after my injury I discovered 'Project Walk' and have been attending since April 2008.(See 'Project Walk')

 <<<<<<<<TO THE RESCUE!!!>>>>>>>>

Thank God for my rescuers who came after me right as soon as they saw me floating there with my head down, otherwise I would have drowned.
